i got back from my 4 day trip to dc on monday afternoon. every year my college girlfriends and i travel to a different city for labor day. i had so much fun hanging out with all of them. we stayed near georgetown and spent a good bit of our time shopping and eating there. we got around to other parts of the city as well to do some sightseeing. the sightseeing, while so much fun, took a lot longer than i thought it would so didn’t have as much time to go around to different design districts. the first day we were there we spent the whole day in georgetown so i did make it to cady’s alley.
one of the first places that i stopped was the ann sacks showroom. {sigh} the shop is in a beautiful brownstone as are most of the shops here.
next stop i made was baker furniture, another kohler interiors company. baker furniture carries a luxurious mix of traditional and transitional furnishings.
around mid-afternoon we needed a pick-me-up. luckily for us, just around the corner was georgetown cupcake. yummy! i had the carrot cake flavor.
after our cupcakes, we got back to the main focus of the day…shopping. next stop. waterworks.
one of my favorite stores that i visited was a store called random harvest. they carry a beautiful mix of authentic antiques as well as new furniture, artwork and accessories. they do a great job of staging the store too. it was beautiful.
on saturday and sunday was when we did most of our sightseeing.
had a blast with you girls! thanks for another great labor day!
